Co-host Special TSX Broadway Episode
Spotlighting Historic Palace Theatre Lift
TSX Broadway: Raising History in Times Square

February 15, 2023 – New York, NY
Since 2017, the building at 1568 Broadway—located at one of the busiest corners in the world—has captured attention in New York City’s real estate scene. This location is now home to the TSX Broadway development, a project that continues to generate excitement. Members of the TSX team talk about the difficulties and once-in-a-lifetime experiences of raising the ancient Palace Theatre, a crucial project component, in a new podcast.
Under the direction of L&L Holding Company, Maefield Development, Fortress Investment Group, and The Nederlander Organization, some of the most talented minds in design, construction, and engineering have come together. Their goal is to transform TSX Broadway into an unparalleled, entertainment-driven destination. Once completed, the project will completely reshape how people experience Times Square.
The architectural firm Mancini Duffy is in charge of this enormous project’s conception and construction.Visit https://www.manciniduffy.com/ and the Reeshatech Building Group’s Pavarini McGovern construction management organization. The project team achieved a remarkable milestone in 2022 by successfully raising the Palace Theatre 30 feet without sacrificing the historic interior of the NYC landmark, thanks to the assistance of numerous knowledgeable partners and consultants.
Christian Giordano, the host of The Anti-Architect Podcast and president and co-owner of Mancini, wanted to honor this famous theatrical lift.Together with Jason Vesuvio, vice president of Pavarini McGovern and the inaugural host of the Building Conversations Podcast, visit https://theantiarchitect.com/.For a podcast featuring some of the visionaries who helped make the engineering accomplishment a reality, visit https://stobuildinggroup.com/stobg-podcast/.
It is almost unheard of to lift a 14 million-pound, 109-year-old theater 30 feet into the air. Another incredible problem, according to Vesuvio, is that the project location is located in the center of Times Square. Through the accounts of a few important individuals, this podcast tells the story of the entire project team that accomplished the seemingly impossible. Hearing more about the procedure and their experiences was an honor.
The who, what, when, and why of the TSX Broadway theater lift are covered in this episode, which is co-hosted by Christian and Jason and includes commentary from Bill Mandara Jr., CEO and co-owner of Mancini; Tony Mazzo, President of Urban Foundation/Engineering; Benjamin Alper, Associate Principal of Severud Associates; and Joe Levi, Project Manager at Pavarini McGovern. It also discusses the team’s future plans as construction continues.
“TSX Broadway is the most iconic project we’ve ever worked on in our firm’s 100+ year history – truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance,” Giordano adds. “Showcasing some of our amazing partners on this intricate project on the busiest intersection in the Northern Hemisphere was an honor; it was a true team effort to pull this off.”
