Our Safety 360° Approach
A key component of STOBG’s identity is Safety 360°. We think that our workers should always be able to go home securely, and our clients should always know that we will protect their workers and guests.
We take a different tack when it comes to safety culture in the construction industry; for us, safety is a passion rather than a duty. Every STOBG employee receives yearly safety coaching from our dedicated Safety Department, which includes leadership training to ensure that all employees are involved and equipped to speak up for safety, lessons-learned conversations and new best practices, and role-plays of scenarios specific to particular work environments. Our teams are expected to continuously expand and innovate, from implementing new technology to testing state-of-the-art safety measures, as we prioritize managing health and safety in the construction industry.
our clients benefit through the prevention of safety-related issues that could impact their projects. Moreover, they gain peace of mind knowing that their employees and guests—everyone, everywhere, every day—are safe.

Safety 360° Philosophy
Awareness
the curriculum cultivates a holistic perspective on safety, addressing both its physical and philosophical dimensions. We expect every employee to stay aware of their surroundings—above, below, and beside them. They are also expected to actively participate in maintaining a safe environment. This includes speaking out about potential hazards, caring as much about safety as our dedicated safety staff, and watching out for one another’s physical and emotional well-being.
Shared Responsibility
Each employee receives safety coaching at least once a year. Our superintendents, project managers, and other team members are just as committed to safety as the Safety Department. We believe that expanding responsibility is the best way to promote accountability.
Behavior
Notably, in more than 80 percent of accidents, behavior is the main contributing factor. With this in mind, the primary goal of our Safety 360° approach is to completely eliminate unsafe behaviors. Through behavior-based safety coaching, we empower employees to take a more active role in building a strong safety culture. This approach engages the workforce, invites input, and gives individuals the tools to make a real difference.
Positivity
To support these efforts, our Safety 360° program uses positive reinforcement to motivate project teams and staff at every level. Company leaders lead by example. They talk regularly with employees about safety, visit construction sites, meet with subcontractors, and even host small group lunches to stay connected.
Additionally, the program honors individuals, teams, and projects that show outstanding safety performance. These elements fuel STOBG’s commitment to fostering a positive and lasting safety culture across the organization.
