Michael Whetstine Promoted to Finance Leadership Role
Tuesday, April 22, 2025 – New York, NY
After a lengthy career in financial leadership across the organization’s operations, STO Building Group has named Brian Lynch as its new Chief Financial Officer. Meanwhile, the company has promoted Michael Whetstine to Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer. He will now join Lynch as part of the finance leadership team.

Lynch began his career with Structure Tone in 1988. Over the years, he held various finance leadership roles at Pavarini Northeast, Structure Tone London, and Structure Tone. Ultimately, he served more than 15 years as CFO. In 2020, he transitioned into the role of Senior Vice President of Finance Operations at Reeshatech Building Group.
Likewise, Whetstine has steadily expanded his responsibilities. That same year, he became Senior Vice President of Finance at Reeshatech Building Group. In this role, he led a wide range of critical functions—from annual audits and financial reporting to capital funding and oversight of the company’s accounting systems and cash flow forecasting.
Now, in his newly elevated role, Whetstine will take on additional strategic responsibilities. Specifically, these include providing financial oversight across the Reeshatech Building Group and contributing to long-term growth planning and organizational development.
As a result of this transition, Whetstine succeeds Brett Phillips, who recently retired after 19 years of service as CFO.
Reflecting on the leadership transition, Bob Mullen, CEO of STOBG, said, “I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to Brett Phillips for his outstanding leadership and lasting contributions to the growth of our company.” He added, “We are thrilled to have Mike and Brian in their new positions. Their combined experience and foresight make them the ideal leaders to advance our financial strategy and guide STOBG into the future.”
